For upwards of 30,000 runners, Delco RRC provided vital water, Gatorade, music and a festive, supportive vibe at the 2016 Philadelphia Marathon. Under the leadership of club president Terry Adamson, over 100 Delco RRC club members, friends and family pitched in to pour and serve tens of thousands of cups. With a bitterly cold wind gusting over 40 mph, the conditions were challenging for standing still while holding cups at arms length, but with encouraging shouts and dance-friendly music playing the day flew by. The race, run on Sunday, November 20, was won by Kimutai Cheruiyot (M) and Taylor Ward (F) with Cheruiyot setting a new course record of 2:15:53. The club thanks everyone who came out to help and celebrate one of America’s premier distance running events.
